We bought 202 shipping containers full of Blokker items!

With the bankruptcy of Blokker, we at Kooistra.com had the chance to take over a large lot: 202 shipping containers holding no fewer than 1,600 different types of Blokker items, including tableware, suitcases, hand blenders and all kinds of other household goods. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, it doesn’t come along often,” Tjitse Lawerman told RTV NOF.

With a purchase agreement requiring the containers to be collected within two weeks, it is quite a logistical challenge. Every day 12 containers are unloaded and spread over 10,000 pallets.

“Fortunately we are a large stock buyer that can handle a job like this. Besides, Frisians are hard workers,” Eric Kooistra said in an interview with RTL.

There were other bidders, but partly thanks to its good reputation and reliability, Kooistra.com won the trust of the sellers and came out on top. Something we are very proud of!

The Blokker stock, worth millions, is expected to sell quickly. Among others to the 45 independent franchisees that do not fall under the bankruptcy. Well-known discount chains are also asking for items with the Blokker logo. Whatever is left will go abroad. There is strong demand for the goods especially in Germany, Belgium, Eastern Europe, the Baltic states and the Balkans. Tjitse remarks: “So it could easily happen that someone in Lithuania soon has a Blokker pedal bin in their bathroom or eats off tableware with the Blokker logo.”
