In short

If your business has a lot of clothing that no longer sells, Kooistra.com buys it in one go. We are talking about new goods: overstock, leftovers from previous collections, return lots and complete shop stock. We do not buy worn clothing or stock from private individuals. Send us a description with quantities and photos and if we're interested, you will receive an offer straight away.

What does a clothing stock buyer do?

A clothing stock buyer takes over lots of clothing in one go from businesses that want to clear their stock. Kooistra.com takes the whole lot, arranges the transport and sells the clothing on to retailers and traders. You do not have to sell items one by one and your warehouse is cleared in a single step.

For larger brands and wholesalers there is an extra rule. Since 19 July 2026 large textile companies may no longer destroy unsold clothing and footwear; for medium-sized companies this applies from 19 July 2030, according to Afval Circulair, run by the Dutch government. Selling to a stock buyer is not covered by this ban. Small companies are exempt.

Which clothing do we buy?

We buy new clothing, footwear and accessories that for whatever reason no longer fit your own sales. The more complete the lot, the better the offer. For example:

  • overstock and leftovers from previous seasons, also with original labels;
  • return lots from online shops, unworn and in their packaging;
  • complete shop stock after a closure, refit or change of range (see also selling shop stock);
  • footwear, bags and accessories;
  • bankruptcy and liquidation stock, in consultation with the administrator.

Which clothing do we not buy?

We do not buy worn or second-hand clothing, single items from someone's wardrobe or anything offered by private individuals. We also do not buy counterfeit branded clothing. Not sure whether your lot qualifies? Send a photo of the label and the packaging.

How do you sell a lot of clothing to Kooistra.com?

Selling takes three steps: you offer the lot, you receive an offer straight away if we're interested, and once you agree we plan the transport. For the offer, a description with quantities and a few photos is enough.

  1. Offer your lot. Fill in the form on this page or send a WhatsApp message to +31 6 50642642. Tell us the type of items, brands, size breakdown and quantities, with a few photos.
  2. An offer straight away. If we're interested, you receive a concrete, no-obligation offer for the whole lot.
  3. Transport. Once you agree, we book a haulier. Lots near Leeuwarden or on a route we are driving anyway are sometimes collected by us.

What determines the price of a lot of clothing?

The price depends mainly on brand, season, size breakdown and packaging. A lot with complete size runs and original labels fetches more than odd leftover sizes. Volume counts too: a full lorry load sells on differently from half a pallet.

Clothing that sits in stock for a long time also costs money on the balance sheet. According to the Dutch Tax Administration (Belastingdienst) you may value obsolete stock, such as clothing that has gone out of fashion, below cost price; fixed write-down percentages apply to textiles and clothing. Your accountant can tell you what that means for your figures. Once a lot is sold, you know exactly what the stock brought in.

Why do businesses sell their clothing to Kooistra.com?

  • In the stock lot trade since 1979. We buy and sell surplus stock from our own 15,000 m² warehouse in Leeuwarden. Read more about our company on about us.
  • Discreet. If you do not want your brand turning up next to your own shops, we sell the lot on outside your sales channels.
  • A quick answer. An offer straight away if we're interested, with no obligation.
  • Any size. From a few cartons to a full lorry load. Return lots from an online shop are welcome too; see selling returned goods.

Frequently asked questions about selling clothing stock

Does Kooistra.com also buy small lots of clothing?

Yes. We buy lots from a few cartons up to a full lorry load. The offer depends on brand, size breakdown and quantities. Offer your lot using the form. If we're interested, you will hear straight away what we are willing to pay for it.

How quickly will I receive an offer for my lot of clothing?

If we're interested, you receive a concrete, no-obligation offer straight away. With photos of the items, the labels and the packaging we can make the quickest and sharpest offer.

Do you buy second-hand clothing?

No. Kooistra.com only buys new clothing, footwear and accessories from businesses. We do not buy worn clothing or single items from a wardrobe, not even in large quantities.

Can I sell clothing to you as a private individual?

No. We only buy lots from businesses, such as brands, wholesalers, online shops and retailers. We do not reply to offers from private individuals.

Am I still allowed to destroy unsold clothing?

Large textile companies have not been allowed to since 19 July 2026, medium-sized companies will not be from 19 July 2030. Small companies are exempt. Selling to a stock buyer such as Kooistra.com is permitted.

Is my brand protected when the stock is resold?

Yes, if you ask us to. We then agree where the lot may and may not be sold, so your brand and your prices do not come under pressure in your own market.

Does Kooistra.com arrange the transport?

Yes. Once you agree, we book a haulier. Lots near Leeuwarden or on a route we are driving anyway are sometimes collected by us.
