In short

If your business has stock of new bicycles, e-bikes or parts that no longer sells, Kooistra.com buys it in one go. Think of previous model years, overstock, return lots and the stock of a shop that is closing. We do not buy used bicycles or stock from private individuals. Send us the brand, type, quantities and photos and you will receive an offer within 24 hours.

What does a bicycle stock buyer do?

A bicycle stock buyer takes over lots of bicycles and bicycle parts from businesses in one go. Kooistra.com takes the whole lot, plans the transport and sells the bicycles on to retailers and traders. You free up space in your warehouse or showroom and do not have to sell bicycles one by one.

The market makes this relevant for many businesses. According to BOVAG, the Dutch trade association, 858,126 new bicycles were sold in the Netherlands in 2024, 7 per cent fewer than in 2023. Lower sales mean models stay in the warehouse longer, while the next model year is already waiting.

Which bicycles and parts do we buy?

We buy new bicycles, e-bikes and parts that no longer fit your own sales. Complete lots with a good spread of frame sizes and colours fetch the most. For example:

  • overstock and bicycles from previous model years, new and boxed;
  • new e-bikes, with battery, charger and keys;
  • parts and accessories such as tyres, inner tubes, lights, locks, pumps and bags;
  • return lots from online shops, unused;
  • the complete stock of a bike shop that is closing or refitting (see also selling shop stock).

We also sell parts and accessories on ourselves; the webshop has, for example, car and bicycle accessories from earlier lots.

Which bicycles do we not buy?

We do not buy used or second-hand bicycles, single bicycles from private individuals or bicycles of unclear origin. We also do not take faulty e-bike batteries. If in doubt, send a photo of the type plate and the packaging with your offer.

What should you look out for with a lot of e-bikes?

For e-bikes, always state the brand, type, model year, battery capacity and whether each bike comes with a charger and keys. Without a battery or charger an e-bike is worth much less. The more complete the set, the higher the offer we can make.

E-bike batteries are lithium batteries and fall under the rules for dangerous goods (ADR) when transported by road. Dutch trade association evofenedex explains what that involves. We take this into account when planning the transport, so please state in your offer whether the batteries are fitted or packed separately.

How do you sell a lot of bicycles to Kooistra.com?

Selling takes three steps: you offer the lot, you receive an offer within 24 hours and once you agree we plan the transport. For the offer, a list with brand, type and quantities plus a few photos is enough.

  1. Offer your lot. Fill in the form on this page or send a WhatsApp message to +31 6 50642642. A stock list from your till system or an Excel file is fine too.
  2. Offer within 24 hours. You receive a concrete, no-obligation offer for the whole lot.
  3. Transport. Once you agree, we book a haulier. Lots near Leeuwarden or on a route we are driving anyway are sometimes collected by us.

What determines the price of a lot of bicycles?

The price depends on brand, model year, type of bicycle, spread across frame sizes and whether the bicycles are still in their original boxes. For e-bikes, battery capacity and the presence of charger and keys count heavily. A lot of one brand and type sells on differently from a mix.

Timing matters as well. According to BOVAG, 48 per cent of new bicycles sold in 2024 were electric, accounting for 72 per cent of bicycle turnover. So e-bikes are in demand. Even so, a model two model years old loses value every season. Selling earlier usually gets you more.

Frequently asked questions about selling bicycle stock

Do you buy second-hand bicycles?

No. Kooistra.com only buys new bicycles, e-bikes and parts from businesses. We do not buy used bicycles, not even in large numbers.

Can I sell my bicycle to you as a private individual?

No. We only buy lots from businesses, such as manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, online shops and bike shops. We do not reply to offers from private individuals.

Do you also buy just parts and accessories?

Yes. We also buy lots of tyres, inner tubes, lights, locks, bags and other cycling accessories without any bicycles. Send a list of items and quantities and you will receive an offer within 24 hours.

Do you buy e-bikes without a battery?

We can, but an e-bike without a battery or charger is worth much less. State in your offer for each model whether battery, charger and keys are included and we will take that into account in our price.

How quickly will I receive an offer for my lot of bicycles?

Within 24 hours of your request you receive a concrete, no-obligation offer. With brand, type, model year, quantities and photos we can make the quickest and sharpest offer.

Does Kooistra.com arrange the transport of the bicycles?

Yes. Once you agree, we book a haulier, taking the rules for e-bike batteries into account. Lots near Leeuwarden or on a route we are driving anyway are sometimes collected by us.
