Kooistra.com is a real family business from Leeuwarden. Trading runs in the family: as early as 1935, grandfather Kooistra went from door to door with a cargo bike selling goods. Today we specialise in buying and selling surplus stock, in the Netherlands, across Europe and well beyond.

Kooistra Dokkum BV
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Dirk Kooistra bought goods from East German factories and sold them in Western Europe.

The first Maxx store opened. Many more followed.

Eric Kooistra and Tjitse Lawerman turn to the global market and move to Leeuwarden, into a 15,000 m² warehouse.

What we do
Kooistra.com has been buying and selling surplus stock for more than 40 years. We buy overstock, end-of-line items, slow-moving stock, factory lots and shop inventories, including stock from bankruptcies.
Our network in the Netherlands and across Europe gives us a range that keeps changing, and we sell it worldwide. New lots arrive every week at our 15,000 m² warehouse. Besides whole lots, we also sell by the outer carton. Useful for retailers and online shops.

Sustainable business
At Kooistra.com unsold stock gets a second life. By buying up surplus stock and selling it on, we prevent waste and support the circular economy. We give products a second chance. We do not destroy them.

Alongside the wholesale business we serve consumers through several retail formats of our own. Because every lot is a one-off, the range in these stores changes all the time.
Maxx stores
For 15 years the place to go for the cheapest goods in the north of the Netherlands. New stock arrives every week, so the range is very varied. Website

What started as selling straight from the warehouse has grown into a recurring sales event in Dokkum. Four times a year bargain hunters come from all over the north of the Netherlands. Website

What exactly does a stock buyer do?
Kooistra is a wholesaler that buys and sells surplus stock, such as overstock, end-of-line items and bankruptcy stock. We buy lots from large retail chains and importers and sell them on at sharp prices to retailers and wholesalers around the world.
How do I know Kooistra is reliable?
Kooistra was founded in 1979 and works with well-known European retailers. Our 15,000 m² warehouse in Friesland is always stocked with current lots. You are welcome to visit us or ask for references.
Do you supply retailers too, or only wholesalers?
Both. Kooistra supplies retailers, market traders and wholesalers across Europe and beyond. Retailers, buyers and traders can order directly through our B2B webshop.
Can I buy from Kooistra as a private individual?
