A storm of media attention over the Blokker lot!

At Kooistra.com we are extremely proud to have completed the huge logistics job around the Blokker lot. 202 shipping containers holding no fewer than 1,600 different items have now been fully unloaded and spread over thousands of pallets. The operation ran smoothly thanks to the efforts of our hard-working team.

A storm of media attention

The size and unusual nature of this takeover attracted a lot of attention from major media outlets in the Netherlands. In recent weeks we have answered questions from and given interviews to well-known names such as:

De Telegraaf, Financieele Dagblad (FD), RTL Nieuws, NOS, NRC Handelsblad, Leeuwarder Courant, plus many other (regional) media.

The media interest underlines how exceptional this transaction is. With statements such as _“A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity”_ (Tjitse Lawerman, RTV NOF) and interviews with Eric Kooistra about our logistics expertise, Kooistra.com has shown why we are a reliable partner for large lots and complex operations.

A major logistical challenge

The agreement required the containers to be collected within two weeks. Every day, 12 containers were unloaded and organised, which meant a tight schedule and teamwork. Thanks to our experience as a large stock buyer, we completed this challenge without any problems.

The future of the Blokker items

Demand for the items is high, both nationally and internationally. Our stock, worth millions, is selling quickly:

• Independent Blokker franchisees: The 45 shops that do not fall under the bankruptcy have shown a lot of interest.

• Discount chains: Big names in retail are queuing up to add the Blokker items to their range.

• Export: The rest of the stock is finding its way to Germany, Belgium, Eastern Europe and the Balkans. As Tjitse remarked: _“It could well be that a household in Lithuania will soon be using tableware with the Blokker logo.”_
